SmallRig 4212 Cage for Canon R8
SmallRig 4212 Cage for Canon R8
The SmallRig 4212 Cage is a precision-engineered full-body protective cage designed specifically for the Canon EOS R8 mirrorless camera. It features a robust aluminium-alloy frame with anti-twist three-point locking (one ¼-20 screw at the base and two side-lock adapters) and rubber pads to prevent scratching.
The cage supports extensive accessory mounting with multiple ¼-20 & 3/8-16 threaded holes, ARRI locating holes, a NATO rail, a cold shoe mount, QD socket/strap slots and a built-in Arca-Swiss quick-release plate for tripod or gimbal compatibility (e.g., DJI RS series).
It retains unimpeded access to the battery door, memory card slot, flip-screen and side ports while remaining lightweight (approx. 140 g) and compact.
Best Suitable
- Photographers and videographers using the Canon EOS R8 who want a rig-ready cage with robust accessory compatibility.
- Those who switch between handheld, tripod and gimbal setups (thanks to the Arca-Swiss base).
- Creators requiring multiple mounting points (monitor, mic, light, handle) without compromising camera access.
- Travel or documentary shooters who need protection with minimal added weight.
